 Pulling extra power from engines is something we have a true passion for but big peak hp figures doesn’t always go your way. Whatever your level of  ability on a machine, a tune should be done to enhance your skills. It’s no use having a knife edge power band if you’re unsure of a circuit. On smaller cc bikes you will find it difficult to corner and concentrate amongst all the other issues you will have to deal with…..No good, as is having a big cc bike that just rushes power at you at the end of its rev range good chance you won’t progress very quickly. As so the opposite is true - a more experienced rider will find it easier to keep a engine singing so a bike tuned to give a wider spread of power wouldn’t be the best option.  We can help with this, if you’re new to track days or racing you have to start somewhere and buying last years  “ex champ”  winning bike wouldn’t always be your best option - it could be a real handful besides it will have had a tough time of it all to become a championship winning machine. In most cases the best solution is to start fresh. Road bikes for most part get a more gentle time of it all and are easy to drive with their more forgiving handling and tamer power characteristics over an all out kitted bike. Making them into a track bike easier than you think.  The need for expensive after market products for the average rider is money down the drain, it may look good and be a great talking point at a pub but that money, in some cases, could have been put to better use. In a lot of cases for the average mortal  any gains in times noticed will have been caused by the  psychological effect of having expensive new parts, I am the worst one ever for this. In a lot of cases making the best of what you have is much more rewarding. When  you finally start to find you have come to the limit of your machines ability  then it’s time to think about where to go next and to what level will depend on your budget. We will find used equipment if required or make/modify alternatives to help you on your way.

 For most cases large power releases can be gained by simple fuelling and exhausts modifications, which with some modern bikes doing just so will achieve way more power and reliability than a model of the same bike factory kitted  only a few years older.

 

 Modern sports bikes now have become so developed and refined that after the initial  removing of  any eliminations and restrictions any improvements made are only small in  percentages  in comparison to older less refined bikes.  With this being the case for most just some quality dyno time will be the best power gain you will see for your pennies. Any work carried out by us will have a before and after print out from the dyno, this is the only way of seeing if gains have been made. There are many dynameters throughout the country and very few will show you the same output readings to the next machine, inflated hp results are a simple way of exaggerating your companies tuning work not always best for the racer but suppose helps when its time to sell it!  Our dynameter runs at a True Horsepower reading which is a simple equation of rpm x torque divided by 5252. The outcome of this may be same as me telling you that the Speedo on your bike when showing 180mph may be more truthfully reading 170mph or the rev counter showing 15000rpm may truthfully be a figure of more like 13500 its not always  something you would like to hear but in a lot of cases this is the truth. With the above being true it is only possible to make comparisons of improvements on the same machine.
